Why You Should Visit Bristol

Have you ever visited Bristol? Well, if you haven’t I would definitely recommend it. Even though it is a small town, it's still very unique in it’s own way. Country music, fun things to do, places to go, and our climate are all reasons you should stop by and take a nice vacation. I believe you should visit Bristol.

The whole state of Tennessee is full of country music but, Bristol is where it all started. Back in the day, there were these things called Bristol Sessions which were, a big time for recording new songs. The Carter Family was one of the most famous musical groups. Today, we still celebrate this music. Every year we have a festival called Rhythm and Roots, in September, where country singers will perform. There are approximately 50,000 people at this festival every year. However, if you miss this festival there is always The Birthplace of Country Music Museum to visit. You can learn about our country music history, some old but still remembered musical groups, and some fascinating instruments. Country music explains a lot of how Bristol came to be.

In addition, if you visit Bristol there are tons of fun things you can do. There are natural places, historical places, and fun places to shop and play at. Some of the natural places that you can go see are Bristol Caverns, South Holston Lake, Steele Creek Park, and Sugar Hollow Park. Secondly, you can also visit historical places and learn some more about Bristol. Some of these places are the Bristol Sign; the TN/VA line; the Stone Castle, which was built in 1935; and Bristol Motor Speedway, built in 1961. Lastly, you can also do a lot of fun active things in Bristol. For example, you can go to the Escape Game, Blackbird Bakery, the Pinnacle, Killin Time, Just Jump, Putt-Putt, and TCBY. If you decide to visit Bristol you’ll be busy and entertained.

Finally, Bristol has all four seasons and a great climate. Our average snowfall is 12 inches a year and we get approximately 41 inches of rain each year. We have all seasons when other states like Florida don’t. During winter, you can go ice skating and sleigh riding. In the Fall, you can go to farms and on wagon rides. You can go swim at the Country Club and enjoy the lake in the Summer. Spring is a good time to go hiking on The Creeper Trail and garden. There are tons of things to do in every season.

Sometimes, getting here can be pretty expensive. For instance, if you were flying from New York City it could cost up to $700 down and back. However, once you get here it's totally worth it. You won’t even remember how much you spent.

In conclusion, country music, fun places to go, and all of our seasons are all reasons to visit Bristol. If you don’t come you will miss out on some cool history and fun activities. I think you would enjoy Bristol, so I hope you stop down for a little vacation.
